Stinkhole 20 November

Hi everyone!

We are planning a trip to Stinkhole on the 20^th of November with the purpose of showing two geologists the various interesting speleothems, minerals, and formations in the cave. As we are already quite a large group, there is very limited space left and it is only open to SRT proficient SEC members. The cave has a sinkhole entrance with a 20m descent and it will most likely be a long trip. Let me know if you are interested.

Update: There are no more spots open for visitors on this trip.

This is a visitors friendly cave, lots of fun.
Quite dark in the cave, bring a light.


Meet 09:00 am at Oak Tree Garage.

Meet leader is Thilo.

Visitors fee is R100.

Members free.

Scrambler Dig 2022-10-23

 Hi everyone, 

I'm doing a digging trip at Scrambler Cave on Sunday the 23rd of October. 

This is one of our most promising digs and we're expecting at least a small breakthrough on this trip... 

Meet at Oak Tree Garage at 09:00. 

SRT proficient (or very comfy climbing) members only. 

Digging a compacted sand floor and hauling lots of buckets of sand back.

SEC AGM 2022

 Hello everyone,

The SEC AGM will be held on the 8th of October at John and Selena's place: 64 Patton Place, Tedderfield  (-26.345652, 27.979407) - enter area via Dan Pienaar Dr.

There will be SRT training from 11:00 onwards.

The AGM will start at 15:00.

After the AGM there will be a braai - SEC will provide boerewors, rolls and salad.

There may be spots opening up on the committee so please consider joining.

There will also be a trip to Armageddon Cave on Sunday, the 9th of October.

Bolt's Cave - 13 June

 Meet at 9am at Oaktree Garage. 

Visitor friendly cave with climbs and squeezes. 

Pretty cave with a stunning entrance. 

Leave cars at the quarry and walk to the cave. 

Braai at the quarry afterwards.

Cave and Braai 14 March 2021

 We are visiting Bolts cave for our Monthly caving trip

This is open to visitors, but we warned there is a fairly exposed climbdown, so not for the faint of heart.

We will be adding extra protection but it will probably still be a bit scary.

Meeting at 9 at Oaktree garage.

From there we will go have a quick look at our new chimny cave entrance, before heading off to Bolts cave

and upon return have a nice braai in the quarry, so bring your chop&dop
