Quarry is a small pretty cave. 

No gear needed. 

We can braai after if anyone is keen

Armageddon 8 November

Good day everyone, 

This Sunday, 8th of November is a trip to Armageddon Cave. 

Meet at 8:30. 

The cave has a big SRT (no hauling!) and two ziplines.

So the trip is mainly for members, but will allow a member to bring a guest if you look after them and if there is enough gear 😜

Please private message me if you will be there and let me know what gear you need. SRT kits are limited and can't be shared.

Scuba diving, cave diving and cave exploration 2 - 4 October 2020

 Hi All, 

We will be doing some normal diving and cave diving but also exploring a nearby cave that has not been properly explored yet at Wondergat (in between Mafikeng and Lichtenburg) from 2 - 4 October 2020. Let me know if anyone keen. Will be camping 👍🏻 not necessary to join for the whole weekend

6th and 13th of September Caving Trips

Hi All, 

two caving trips with the cave rover coming up. Will be testing the cave rover in a cave for the first time on the 6th of September 2020. Plan is to do it in the new cave next to Scheepers which we have not fully explored. Then we will be taking the cave rover on its next more extreme mission in the Scramblers dig on the 13th of September 2020. SEC AGM 2020

Hello everyone, 

The SEC AGM will be held on the 10th of October at Morester Camp, an outdoor venue close to Sterkfontein cave - (http://www.morestercamp.co.za/ (-26.059384, 27.701661))

In the morning there will be some caving at Scheepers as well as a new cave which was recently found on the property!

Lunch will be at 12:00 at Bos Kombuis at Morester Camp.

21 and 22 March 2020 – Rescue Meet

The Speleological Exploration Club would like to invite you to a cave rescue weekend on the 21 st and 22nd of March at Hoogland Health Hydro, west of Pretoria.

SEC has held a number of cave rescue weekends in the past and would like to involve other
organizations to foster better intergroup rescue skills if these are ever required.

The following topics will be covered on the weekend:
• Rescue equipment
• Patient packaging
• Non-technical cave rescue
• Rope rigging for rescue
• Organizing a rescue
• A mock callout for a cave rescue

Camping facilities with ablutions are available at Hoogland, and have been kindly offered to us free of charge. For those who do not want to camp, other accommodation is available, but you will need to book this yourself:

Wonderfontein - 12 January

This Sunday's club trip is to Wonderfontein.

Meet 9am at garage on R500 just north of Carltonville (opp silos). 

Bring flotation  devices (pool noodles) as swimming is involved. 

High clearance vehicle needed to get to cave or catch a lift at the garage.

Suitable for visitors.

We will be caving for 2 - 3 and will braai afterwards

A trip is done once a month, on the second Sunday of the month. Extra trips are done on an ad-hoc basis and a few long-weekend trips to other provinces and countries are also organized throughout the year.
