Yom Tov Caving Trip 8th of December 2019 at 09:00

We will be doing a Yom Tov caving trip on the 8th of December 2019. We are meeting up at the Oak Tree garage (-26.035838 27.738168) at 09:00. Sunday's trip is to Sommerville, located on the same property as Skilpad & NH3. Expecting some bolting and SRT inside the cave to get to the cave's known end.

SEC AGM 26th of October

Hello everyone,

The SEC AGM will be held on the 26th of October at John & Selena's house.
64 Patton Place, Tedderfield, Johannesburg 

From 12:00, there will be rescue related activities and training. Bring helmets and SRT kit.

The AGM will start at 15:00. If you cannot make it, please complete  a proxy form and send it back to me or hand it to any committee member.

SEC June Caving trip - Bolts Cave

SEC June Caving trip - Bolts Cave

We are visiting Bolts cave this month.
rumour has it that there is a fairly difficult climb down.
so visitors welcome, but maybe not first time visitors, unless you are very confident of your climbing abilities and you can convince me of it.
or if you dont like scary climbs, maybe give this one a skip.

No braai afterwards, but we might pop in at Bushwackers afterwards.

Limited numbers allowed.

so we wont get any surprise cavers rocking up.

Skilpad Grot - 11 May

Hello everyone,

On the 11th of May SEC will visit Skilpad Grot. It is a beautiful cave that was discovered by the Potch Potholers in recent years and this will be the first time that SEC visits the cave.

Meet at 09:00 at Bovenste Oog (-26.198298, 27.164566)

Visitors are welcome to join, but overall numbers are limited. No SRT.
Let me know if you are joining and if you need gear.
The owner of the property has asked for R50 per person visiting the property.

April Caving trip: Caving at Nick's Cave (Members Only)

SEC is returning to Nick's cave to continue exploration of the newly rediscovered section of the cave.

Paid up Members only, The cave has a lot of Guano and dust, so if you are not a regular caver, you stand a great chance of getting sick from this cave.

Please let Gerrie Pretorius know if you are joining ASAP as the farmer asked us to let him know the numbers.

Meeting at 10:00 at the Garage on your left as you enter Koster coming from Magaliesburg.

No braai, as this is far away, and there probably wont be time.
